Annie Ade Nyangbeh, a 32-year-old single mother from River Gee County, Liberia, expresses her gratitude to Partners In Health Liberia (PIHL): “Without them, I wouldn’t be here today for this interview.” 

Liberia was among over 68 countries represented at the recent symposium in Thailand. PIH-Liberia in collaboration with the Maryland County Health Team, showcased community health initiatives through three peer-reviewed abstracts, two posters, and one oral presentation, all highlighting the years of hard work to enhance community health systems in Maryland County.

Since 2018, the Youth Friendly Centers have effectively addressed the challenges facing adolescents, significantly decreasing the high rates of teenage pregnancy in Maryland and southeastern Liberia.

In Maryland County, where access to nutritious food remains a challenge for many families and patients, Partners In Health (PIH) Liberia has taken a bold step to close the gap.

Partners In Health collaborated with the County Health Team to induct two new residents into the Family Medicine Residency Program on September 3, 2025.
